Gerudo Sorceress by mattleese87 Gerudo Sorceress by mattleese87
Finally finished the second character in my Zelda tabletop game. This is my sister's character, a Gerudo Sorceress, which we came up with a name for but misplaced it (I'll add it in here later when we come up with one). I had her use her limited artistic skills (I drained the family of this skill for the last few generations at least lol) and she designed a decently well thought-out costume for her, inspired a bit by Gypsy clothing. Later, her boyfriend and I went to a hobby store for tabletop games and we found the PERFECT figure for her, one that not only looked like a Gerudo, but who wore an outfit very similar to her drawing and had a bit of a Gypsy flair.

So, in this drawing, I decided to combine elements from the two: her sketch and the figure. This is what I came up with. I also wanted to put her in a visually-interesting place, and the most interesting place in Gerudo Desert (besides all the lovely sand lol) is the Desert Colossus statue, marking the entrance to the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time. The setting takes place a few centuries after Ocarina of Time, so I figured perhaps the bottom half of the statue would have been claimed by the sand by this point and the Spirit Temple forgotten to all... except those delving into the dark magic arts that is. Perhaps her character has been spending some time there and learning the ways of Koume and Kotake? We shall see.

Not really, it was just a female Gerudo character created specifically for the game I had put together (see image description). Then again, perhaps Nabooru had practiced some sorcery in her youth, especially if she had once been close to Ganondorf.

Thanks. I'd say it probably took me about 30 hours total. I used Photoshop CS4 and Poser 8 for lighting reference on the body (even though in the end I found myself just making up the lighting).

overall a great picture (love the detail on skin tone, the desert background, the hair, the magic effects etc), though I imagine it gets rather cold in the desert ;)

Wow, amazing! Love the coloring and all of the details. Having the statue being half-buried is neat idea too, really makes for a gorgeous backdrop. Excellent job!

Oh man, this is so gorgeous. The statue in the background looks amazing, it makes me want to weep tears of joy.

I love gypsies and Gerudos, so mixing them around a bit is so awesome. She's sexy and pretty and her glowy-magical-ball-things are awesome. :D

WOW!!! :faint: This is positively breathtaking!!! The sheer attention to detail alone is amazing, not to mention how intricate every last design is. Also, I LOVE how much you matched the look from the actual game art and in game models, it literally looks like it came right from the game itself.

An amazing job what you have done with this drawing. :#1:
Lots of things are great in this picture; the sketch, the figures, the coloring, the effect of the sand, seriously good.
The only thing that I think you could have done better is the statue; I think it would have been better if the statue's face wasn't looking at us, but instead, in the same direction as the Gerudo.
Whatever, this drawing is really good.:D
